On July 13, the main arena of Shenzhen Sports Center Gymnasium was packed, with 16,000 enthusiastic spectators witnessing the powerful return of the Chinese women’s basketball team. Facing Indonesia, the Chinese squad unleashed their full firepower, securing a commanding 110–59 victory and kicking off their title defense campaign with a strong start.

The tournament was divided into Level A and Level B competitions. The Level A matches were held in the main arena, featuring eight top teams—China, New Zealand, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, the Philippines, and Lebanon—competing for the championship. The Level B matches took place in the secondary arena of Shenzhen Sports Center, with eight teams playing for rankings from 9th to 16th place. During the group stage, each competition day included three matches for both Level A and Level B.
This event marks the first time Shenzhen has hosted the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup and, following the 2024 U18 Women’s Asia Cup, represents Shenzhen’s second opportunity to provide a top-level competitive platform for Asian women’s basketball. Notably, as the host and defending champion, the Chinese women’s team has undergone a major overhaul following a disappointing performance at the Paris Olympics, introducing a new head coach and system. With renewed determination, they aim to claim their 13th Asia Cup title (including the tournament’s predecessor, the Asian Championship) on home soil in Shenzhen.
01 Intelligent Mobile Grandstand System
Amid the electrifying atmosphere of the Women’s Asia Cup, and despite the overwhelming cheers from a packed arena, Avant Sports’ fifth-generation mobile grandstand system demonstrated outstanding stability.
The system adopts a fully motorized folding solution, significantly improving the efficiency of setup and dismantling while greatly reducing the need for manual handling and labor. Equipped with a self-correction system and an upgraded patented positioning and locking mechanism, the grandstands operate with enhanced smoothness and stability.
In addition, the height-adjustable function allows the system to flexibly adapt to different sports events and activities. It not only enables seat height adjustments to provide spectators with optimal viewing angles but also allows the entire structure to be smoothly retracted and stored in a rear warehouse behind the access doors.
02 Professional-Grade Upholstered Folding Chairs
Avant Sports also equipped the venue with its professional-grade Kirin Series upholstered folding chairs. These chairs feature a high-strength frame structure with a load capacity of up to 250 kg, fully meeting the demands of professional athletes.
The anti-slip feet protect the venue flooring from damage, while the yacht-grade leather upholstery offers excellent durability and a premium, comfortable feel. Combined with ergonomically designed support and high-resilience 3D foam padding, the chairs effectively help athletes alleviate physical fatigue after competition.
03 Integrated Stadium Seating Series
With a diverse and high-quality range of seating products, Avant Sports provided a comprehensive seating solution for the venue. Upholstered sofa chairs were supplied for the lower and upper general spectator areas as well as accompanying seats, while mobile sofa chairs were arranged for the podium and VIP sections. Luxury sofa seating was installed in the private boxes, and specially designed media seats with approximately 60-degree rotation capability were provided for the press area.
This integrated seating solution not only perfectly meets the functional requirements of each zone, but also blends harmoniously with the venue environment through a unified design language, creating a strong visual impact. 04 Professional Modular Hardwood Flooring System
The Shenzhen Sports Center Gymnasium needs to accommodate over 12 different event and performance layouts, including ice hockey, basketball, badminton, and concerts. To meet these requirements, Avant Sports provided a professional modular hardwood flooring system with rapid-lock functionality.
The system uses interlocking heavy-duty steel tongues and high-density polyethylene grooves, minimizing wear and tear during assembly and disassembly. Its unique ‘quick-lock’ design ensures a secure connection while allowing convenient installation and removal. Thanks to the patented bidirectional quick-assembly technology and precise numbering of each panel, a full standard basketball court can be assembled or dismantled in just four hours.
05 Intelligent Navigation System
To address challenges faced by large crowds during events at Shenzhen Sports Center—such as finding directions, parking, and locating seats—Avant Sports equipped the venue with an intelligent seating and navigation system.
The system uses an integrated indoor-outdoor positioning algorithm and proprietary multi-level indoor mapping technology, allowing multiple indoor floors to be displayed intuitively on a single interface. It can quickly determine the user’s current floor and location. Additionally, the system integrates AR/VR technology to provide real-time visual guidance, delivering precise seat navigation and a seamless experience for spectators.
06 Metal Grandstand System
Avant Sports also equipped the secondary arena of the gymnasium with a metal grandstand system. Combined with Avant Sports’ series of fixed seating, mobile grandstands, professional modular hardwood flooring, and folding chairs, this creates a flexible and adaptable venue configuration solution. The comprehensive system allows rapid adjustment of seating layouts to meet the requirements of different events, enabling seamless transitions from small-scale performances to professional sports competitions. It ensures multifunctional use of the secondary arena while maintaining spectator comfort and safety.
07 Multi-Functional Sports Equipment
In addition, Avant Sports provided both the main and secondary arenas with a range of sports equipment for basketball, volleyball, and badminton competitions, including electric hydraulic basketball systems, official scoring tables, technical statistics stations, and other supporting facilities.
